Water represents so many things to us as human beings.  It is a source of life.  It is also source of beauty and play.  It is also something that connects us.  Perhaps this is why it is also a deeply symbolic and religious element.  In this, our annual Water Communion ceremony, we will explore ways in which water helps and heals the mind, body, spirit and communities of which we are a part.   Please consider bringing some water that symbolizes that part of your life that is most important to you.

Taking the Rap (Sermon at Camp de Benneville Pines)

Theme:
Vision
Sunday, September 16, 2018 - 10:00am
Rev. Greg Ward
Worship Associate:
Robin Stillwater
We've all done things - or have been part of things - that went poorly.  We've all, at times, hurt or disappointed people we respect or admire.  Being able to see - and move - past that is more than a matter of time.  It's not simply 'forgive and forget.'  It's a matter of understanding, accepting, owning and starting again.  This is a service about how Camp taught me about taking the rap and being part of rap groups.

Note: No audio recording is available for this service.

Theme:
Vision
Sunday, September 16, 2018 - 10:00am
Rev. Kikanza Nuri-Robins
Worship Associate:

If good fences make good neighbors, what can you say about the wall around your heart? During the Days of Awe, between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we are invited to reflect on the unnecessary fences we have built or caused to be built, and to consider what we might do to mend them, lower them or just take them down. For what might you make amends?

RE - Conversations and Connections

Please join us for “Conversations and Connections” this fall:  Saturday, September 15, Saturday, October 20, and Saturday, November 17.
This program will provide our church community the opportunity to develop meaningful connections, two people at a time.  Within the context of small group gatherings, we will break into two, encouraging conversation between us that deepen our connections.  Each meeting will offer an opportunity for these one-to-one conversations with at least 3 people.  We will meet once a month in 3 month cycles.  The third meeting of each cycle will be a potluck for those who have attended one or more of the Conversations and Connections meetings.
Our guiding intention is to provide structure and opportunities for meaningful connections between individuals in our congregation.  We believe as the number of one-to-one connections grows over time there will be an expanding web of connections in our community based on trust and acceptance.
We hope you’ll join us.
Please sign up at the RE Table in Forbes Hall after services.
