The FIA Peace and Social Justice Committee invites you to a screening of March’s Second Sunday Cinema film, “Occupation 101: Voices of the Silenced Majority,” on Sunday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Produced in 2006, the documentary provides a comprehensive history of the roots of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, beginning with the rise of Zionism in the 1880s, and particularly focuses on the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. It questions the ethics of U.S. monetary/ military support of Israel and it presents interviews with Israeli and American scholars, religious leaders and humanitarian workers — more than half of whom are Jewish — who are critical of the injustices and human rights abuses stemming from Israeli policies in the occupied territories.
