Opening Reception Sunday, April 8, noon. Forbes Hall

Ellie Peters has created art work worthy of attention since she was quite small. After four years of art classes at Mission Renaissance School of Art, where she was taught techniques and kept on task, her art work has become more refined.

Tom Peters has enjoyed creating work in photography and painting for over 40 years. Tom self-published three books
featuring his art work, and just recently published a memoir titled, “Step Away from the War.”

Communication Skills Workshop

Your Right Relations Team will be providing a Communications Skills Workshop on Thursday, April 26 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Forbes Hall, to which all are invited.  We will explore skills that will help us live into our Covenant of Right Relations.  With our Covenant we are committing to caring, welcoming, communicating, apologizing, forgiving and striving to be as compassionate and kind as we are able.  When we fall short, we will try to acknowledge our mistakes.  This will most certainly be, at times, challenging and fulfilling and exciting and growthful.  We are working to live in right relation with one another.

You may read the Covenant on our church website:  http://www.uusm.org/for-members/right-relations-task-force.  You may also pick up a copy of the Covenant at the Right Relations table after each service.

Please sign up for the Workshop at the Right Relations table on Sunday.  A member of our Right Relations Team will be glad to respond to your questions and chat with you about what’s happening in right relations these days.  See you there!

Homily by Catie Grasso

Heart & Soul is a monthly contemplative worship service series that occurs on the second Sunday of each month. It is a shorter, more intimate service, with singing and instrumental music, statements, and questions, silence, and sharing. Readings, poems, quotes, and music are drawn from a variety of sources, including the UU Soul Matters Sharing Circle, our hymnals, and popular/folk music.

At this point, audio of Heart & Soul services are unavailable

Earth Day

Theme:
Emergence
Sunday, April 29, 2018
Alison Kendall and James Witker
Worship Associate:
Rev. Greg Ward

Alison Kendall, Green Living Committee Chair and James Witker, Faith in Action Co-chair present an Earth Day awareness-generating service which explores what you can do personally and organizationally to address the threat of climate change to future generations and all living systems.

During this awareness-generating service on what has been happening with climate justice, we explore our response to those who say, "it's beyond the point of hope," and understand how the choices that we make matter a great deal. The trick is to summon the great spiritual awakening: that our choices have great impact on people who live in the future and in other places, but we are still accountable to them.
