Women's Alliance Meeting

Come Sing a Song with the Women's Alliance -- July 6

We'll raise “Songs of Heart, Spirit, Action” for our summer circle. UUs gather for services each week, all of us creating the worship together of many elements, words, music, and customs. All my life I have studied this process, and songs by UU women resonate strongly for me. You are warmly invited to the third in a heartfelt series, “A Year of Living Musically.”

Come sample several on Sunday, July 6, 11:10 to 12:30 p.m., in the Courtyard. These are songs about grounding our behavior in the heart and spirit, something many women have written and sung about over the ages. (I prepared song sheets for the Pride Parade but was so happily blown away by my first experience there that the lyrics stayed in my backpack; so let's share them soon.) All are welcome for one song or a dozen, whether you think of yourself as a singer or not.

Then on Sunday, July 20, we'll help prepare the annual Interweave Picnic, which starts likewise, right after the 10 a.m. service. If you can bring salad, hot dogs or buns, dessert, or drinks, or help with the hands-on tasks of the day, let me know.

In 1927 our church and our Women's Alliance were founded. We have continued the living tradition by providing ordinary and extraordinary opportunities for interesting programs, leadership training, fundraising, worship, friendship, good food, feminist studies, community outreach, and personal growth; see also the UU Women's Federation at www.uuwf.org
