Conversations about Death - "Dying Alone: You Don’t Have to be Afraid"

Topic is Conversations about Death - "Dying Alone: You Don’t Have to be Afraid" presented by Rev.Carrie Lauer and Cassandra Christenson

Death will happen and generally it is not known when or where. We may be alone by choice or by accident. It is good to know how to help one's own self through this unknown time that we may be without fear. Rev. Carrie Lauer and Cassandra Christenson will co-lead the evening. They will draw upon their experiences of being with the dying, the wisdom of ancient traditions, and the knowledge of those who have had profound experiences when death seemed to be upon them. Conversations about the Mystery

How do you describe your Faith? Is it enough to say, “I’m a UU?” Or do you need to specify the kind of Unitarian Universalist you are, citing perhaps, the religion or faith or belief system that informs your appreciation of Unitarian Universalism. During this season of polemic speech in our country, it becomes harder to share what you believe without becoming defensive or feeling you need to justify your position. This morning we will talk about how one can talk about the Mystery that some call God, and the energy that shapes other beliefs, in ways that are inclusive — calling people in to share their ideas, rather than calling them out or pushing them away.
Conversations and Connections
Conversations and Connections.  Saturday, March 16, 10am to 12pm.  Forbes Hall.
Julia Jonathan has attended most of our gatherings, and she writes:
“Don’t miss out! Conversations and Connections (10-12pm March 16 in Forbes) is an opportunity to engage in a unique and unparalleled experience that will connect you to other members of the congregation in a very deep and meaningful way. In pairs we take turns speaking and listening and then dialogue on what has been shared based upon topics chosen by our wonderful facilitators. I wouldn’t miss this for the world.”
