Morning Mediation and Check-In - Zoom/Online
Join us in a weekday morning meditation and check-
This 21-day course will be undertaken in the weekday mornings. You need not come to all the sessions. You will benefit from even one day of participation. For these brief 30-minute sessions, we will sign on at 9 AM, settle in for a brief lesson and meditation, and close with a 10-minute check-in and sharing of what’s on your heart and mind as you launch your day.
From the course description: The Tao is the heartbeat of nature, the essential rhythm of being, and the fundamental pulse of our world. In this expanded edition of the Daily Pulse, you will immerse yourself in the light expansion of natural energy and give yourself a focal point for tranquility. You will also understand the dark collapse of energy, and be given simple steps to release yourself from this unhappiness. Within the Tao, there are eight natural energies called trigrams, and these combine together to form the yin/yang or tai chi. Just like the yin/yang symbol, where the light is balanced by the dark and the dark is balanced by the light, the Tao is about perfect balance. Light energy leads us to happiness. Dark energy gives us opportunities for personal growth and choices which lead to peace and calm. The Daily Pulse (Expanded Edition) is a wonderful blend of teaching, meditative experience, and journaling. Let's walk the path to peace, calm, and happiness together.

Nature Journaling by Dorothy Steinicke - Zoom/Online
Join us for nature journaling on crows. These ubiquitous birds are highly intelligent and highly social. We will learn a little about them and then journal using photos, our memories and stories. Try watching some crows in preparation for this session, see if you can learn about them by observation. Come to the session with paper and pencil or whatever tools you want to use to write and draw.
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Dorothy Steinicke has more than twenty years experience introducing people to a love of the natural world. She leads hikes for children and for adults in Topanga Canyon, Ballona Wetlands, and Dockweiller State Beach.
Campus Beautification
Calling all of our UU Santa Monica Green folks! Come help us beautify our campus. We will bring the coffee and donuts if you bring your gardening gloves and some greatly appreciated donations of mulch.
Please RSVP to admin@uusm.org.
