FIA - Activist Training with Sunrise LA
Faith In Action is teaming up with Sunrise Movement for an all-day environmental justice training. Sunrise is a youth and young adult-led grassroots network that is quickly changing the national conversation about climate change by demanding good jobs, healthcare for all, and a livable future.

FIA - Artisan, Wares, & GourmandGoods Fundraiser Faith in Action Commission Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Courtyard. Artisan wares will include ceramics, jewelry, and other hand made goods. Gourmet goodies will include Abby Arnold’s homemade chocolate and caramel sauces. In addition, a number of gift items and costume jewelry will be available. Please come and support our FIA programs. For further information contact Diana Spears. |

FIA - Book, Craft, & Gourmet Food FUNdraiser Artisan Crafts • Books • Gourmet / Organic Foods & More (open to the public beginning at 12 noon). Courtyard. Come peruse the tables of one-of-a-kind crafts, delightful oddities, thought provoking books and organic treats, (including gourmet foods from Community Services Unlimited, a South Central L.A. non-profit guest and recent partner to Second Sunday Supper in April). Lunch will be available for purchase, so make an afternoon out of the event! A great opportunity to shop for yourself, your home or for gifts. A percentage of all sales benefit the Faith In Action Committee and their affiliated programs including the Green Committee, the Hunger Task Force, Interweave, and the Peace & Social Justice Committee. |

FIA - Car Wash Event Help Spread Awareness of the Area Car Wash Boycotts! Sat, Nov 1, 10am-12pm. Courtyard Shade Structure. The Peace and Social Justice Committee invite you to pass out flyers concerning the practices of both the Millennium and Santa Monica Car Wash businesses. Both of these businesses are involved in lawsuits in which workers allege they have been denied fair wages and rest breaks. Workers who have spoken up have been intimidated and/or fired. Please join us at 10am to break into neighborhood groups that will distribute flyers on cars in the neighborhood. We will meet back at UU Santa Monica at noon for Lunch.
