L.A. Pride Parade

Sunday, June 14, is the L.A. Pride Parade! Kids march; families march; even dogs march. You can march too! Join us! You don’t even need to drive! We’ll be chartering a bus that will leave from the church right after the 9 a.m. service. Round trip fare is $15 (with a bit of a break for families). Contact Janet Goodwin for more information. The first 55 marchers to sign up and pay up will have a reserved seat. Otherwise, try to carpool with your UU neighbors.

Holiday Craft Fair

The Holiday Craft Fair is scheduled for Sunday, November 15. Beverly Alison will have a Treasure Table again this year — you all know how great that was last year. If you have treasures to donate contact Beverly.

We are on the treasure trail. Donate your “glitzy, ritzy” items for our Unique Boutique. Art, jewelry, clothing with a label — anything you consider to be a treasure.  Beverly will pick up your treasure and create a table to remember! There will be a variety of arts and crafts made by church members and guest artists. Pottery, jewelry, cards, hand painted silk scarves and more. We always have a great selection for you or for gifts — and the church receives a percentage of everything sold.

Often as we go about our lives we get caught up in the day to day flow of life. How do we return to the present and cultivate a sense of awe and wonder in our approach to the world? Join us for worship as we explore this topic and look at ways to nurture ourselves and each other.

Freedom and Authority

Rev. Jim Grant
At first glance authority and freedom appear to be diametrically opposed.  Perhaps, though, there is an authority of a free and open mind.  Beware however, as G.K. Chesterton wrote somewhere, "Don't be so open-minded that your brain falls out."

Coming of Age (9:00 a.m. service) + Annual Meeting (11:30 a.m. instead of service)
