Community Vigil at Santa Monica City Hall
Please join Rev. Rebecca and our interfaith colleagues for a Community Vigil on Tuesday at Santa Monica City Hall at 5:30.
Rev. Janet Gollery McKeithen reminds us:
Our world is broken and we are in a time of mourning. Join us in divine listening to one another in hopes and in preparation for a more just day. The Santa Monica Area Interfaith Council and community will continue to struggle together towards the day when every person is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of sexual identity, creed, color, ability, religion, age, gender or gender expression. These mass murders occurred not only during Pride Week, but also during the holy month of Ramadan. Just as we are committed to ending homophobic and transphobic violence, we will be working side by side with our Muslim, Arab, Persian, South and East Asian neighbors to end Islamophobia.
We come together in love, so that hate and violence will not be the last word. We hope you can join us.
Adult RE - An Enjoyable Dive Into the Who and What We Are
Bill Blake & Dave Watson will present an enjoyable dive into the who and what we are. This on-going, once a month class is presented to help participants master specific meditation skills. We endeavor to answer the questions Who am I? (attitudes and beliefs) and What am I? (essence or true nature). This class will include meditations that explore participants' spiritual goals. The monthly group meetings will also focus on insights gained throughout the month. It is expected that participants have a regular meditation practice.

FIA / PSJ - Film Screening "Voices Across the Divide"
“Voices Across the Divide” is a documentary and oral history project made by Alice Rothchild and Sharon Mullaly. It explores exploring the Israeli/Palestinian conflict through rarely heard personal stories by Palestinians (and their children) who were expelled from their homeland when Israel was declared a state by the U.N. in 1947-48 and after the war of 1966-67.
