~ The Preacher and the Slave, by Joe Hill

Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.
Ours is no caravan of despair.
Come, yet again come.
Ven, ven, cual eres, ven

La nuestra es la caravana de amor.
Ven, otra vez, ven.

Opening Hymn #113
Where Is Our Holy Church?
Covenant
Love is the doctrine of this church.
The quest of truth is its sacrament,
And service is its prayer.
To dwell together in peace;
To seek knowledge in freedom;
To serve humankind in fellowship;
Thus do we covenant with each other.
Hymn of Praise
Let those who live in every land
declare that fear and war are done --
joined by the labor of their hands,
in love and understanding, one. ~ Kenneth Patton

We celebrate Unitarian Universalism this month with support for UU-affiliated ministries and service organizations. This week, our Generous Congregation offering will go to CLUE-LA, Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice. CLUE LA, founded in 1996, is one of the oldest interfaith worker justice organizations in the country. Their mission is to bring together clergy and lay leaders of all faiths to join low-wage workers in their struggles for justice.
