*Gathering Hymn #224 Let Christmas Come
Let Christmas come, its story told,
when days are short and winds are cold;
let Christmas come, its lovely song,
when evening's soon and night is long.
Let Christmas come, its great star glow,
on quiet city, parks of snow;
let Christmas come, its table gleam,
love born again: the truth of dream.
Prelude Silent Night
Welcome Rev. Rebecca Benefiel Bijur
Opening Words
Chalice Lighting The Hutchinson Family (9am)
*Covenant Love is the doctrine of this church.
The quest for truth is its sacrament,
And service is its prayer.
To dwell together in peace,
To seek knowledge in freedom,
To serve humankind in fellowship,
Thus do we covenant with each other.
*Hymn of Praise From all that dwell below the skies
Let songs of hope and faith arise
Let peace, goodwill on earth be sung
Through every land, by every tongue.

Third Sung Response Dr. Zanaida Robles
*Carol #237 The First Nowell verses 1 & 2
The First Nowell the angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;
In fields as they lay, keeping their sheep,
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,
Born is the King of Israel.
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the east beyond them far,
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell,
Born is the King of Israel.

Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above
Glory to god, glory in the highest.

Christ the lord.

*Carol #259 We Three Kings of Orient Are verses 1 & 4
We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.
Chorus: O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
Born a king on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love;

OPCC’s goal is to end -- not simply manage -- human suffering on the Westside of Los Angeles.
