* Gathering Hymn #163 For the Earth Forever Turning v.1 & 4 only
For the earth forever turning
For the skies, for every sea
For our lives, for all we cherish, sing we our joyful song of peace
For the world we raise our voices
For the home which gives us birth
In our joy, we sing returning home to our blue green hills of earth.

*Covenant Love is the doctrine of this church.
The quest for truth is its sacrament,
And service is its prayer.
To dwell together in peace,
To seek knowledge in freedom,
To serve humankind in fellowship,
Thus do we covenant with each other.
*Hymn of Praise From all that dwell below the skies
Let songs of hope and faith arise
Let peace, goodwill on earth be sung
Through every land, by every tongue.

Sung Response Come and Find the Quiet Center Attrib. B. F. White
Come and find the quiet center in the crowded life we lead,
find the room for hope to enter, find the frame where we are freed:
Clear the chaos and the clutter, clear our eyes that we might see
all the things that really matter, be at peace and simply be.
In the Spirit let us travel, open to each other’s pain
Let our loves and fears unravel, celebrate the space we gain
There’s a place for deepest dreaming, there’s a time for heart to care
In the Spirit’s lively scheming there is always room to spare.

Service Notes
Today 40% of our non-pledge offering will go to OPCC, (Ocean Park Community Center), to empower people to rebuild their lives. OPCC is an independent, community-supported organization in which staff, volunteers and clients work with mutual respect to address the effects of poverty, abuse, neglect and discrimination. The agency's programs are designed to remove barriers to access the resources individuals need to ensure their survival, end their victimization and improve their quality of life. OPCC’s goal is to end -- not simply manage -- human suffering on the Westside of Los Angeles.
