Adult R/E - "An Enjoyable Dive into Who and What We Are"
Bill Blake & Dave Watson will present an enjoyable dive into the who and what we are. This on-going, twice a month class is presented to help participants master specific meditation skills. We endeavor to answer the questions Who am I? (attitudes and beliefs) and What am I? (essence or true nature). This class will include meditations that explore participants' spiritual goals. The monthly group meetings will also focus on insights gained throughout the month. It is expected that participants have a regular meditation practice.

Wonderful Watercolors Await on the Art Wall in November
Please join us to view the world through watercolor creations this November during our Art Wall Opening Reception: Sunday, November 5, from noon to 1:30 pm in Forbes Hall. Artist Kathy Wilczek will be on hand to share her thoughts and inspirations behind the pieces on display.
Wilczek grew up in the Boston area, where from an early age she was inspired to create art, often winning contests put on by the Boston Globe. Her passion led her to degrees in Fine Arts and Graphic Design; she taught Art and Art History in Illinois for over ten years. In Chicago, Lake Michigan replaced her New England ocean as she continued to explore art forms in every way possible. Her work was displayed and sold in art galleries and design studios throughout the Chicago area for decades.
Wilczek has studied and created a variety of art forms by working with oils, acrylics, mixed-media, sculpture, and most recently, watercolor. Wilczek’s influences include Van Gogh and “the whole Wyeth family.” Wilczek mentions, “My point of view is nature, whimsy, and generally illustrative. Color and how it effects other colors is something always on my mind.”
She and her husband retired and relocated from the Midwest to the Tucson desert six years ago. The vastly different surroundings, especially the mountains, inspired her to learn to paint with watercolors in order to express the dryness of the desert through water and color. She has developed an enduring love for the West Coast. Wilczek loves to visit Santa Monica and the Pier, finding new enchantment in the West Coast vibes and ocean fun. Although the two coasts she has lived on elicit very different feelings, to study both is her delight.
Contact our Art Director, Beverly Alison, for further info about this show or about exhibiting on our Art Wall.
Heart and Soul: A Contemplative Worship Service - What Does It Mean to Be a Community of Abundance?
A Sunday Kind of Love
RRTF - Dialogue Circle
Two Dialogue Circles to discuss the rough draft of the Covenant of Right Relations have now been held. If you haven’t had a chance to provide feedback or input, please attend our third and final Circle on Sunday, November 19 from 1 – 3. You may sign up at the Right Relations table in Forbes Hall after both services or by emailing: rightrelations@uusm.org. This is an exciting process of contemplating and deciding how we want to be with one another. We are committing to our highest aspirations for relationship and we need everyone’s voice and heart for it to fully reflect our community.
And the Right Relations Task Force is also available to help talk through any concerns or conflicts you are presently holding or experiencing. Just complete a Note to Right Relations and let us know what’s on your mind. Stop by the Sunday table in Forbes or drop a line to the above email.
RRTF- Dialogue Circle
Come at noon for a light lunch and stay for the Dialogue Circle from 1 – 3pm. Please rsvp to: rightrelations@uusm.org so we have enough food.
This is an exciting process of contemplating and deciding how we want to be with one another. We are committing to our highest aspirations for relationship and we need everyone’s voice and heart for it to fully reflect our community.
After the three Dialogue Circles where the Right Relations group will gather feedback and input, a final draft covenant will be sent to the Board. Once they approve, the Covenant will be in its final form and will be voted on by the congregation. We hope your aspirations for how we agree to be with one another will be reflected in the final draft. To be certain of that, attend a Dialogue Circle or email your thoughts and comments to: rightrelations@uusm.org.
Thank you for your thoughtful participation and engagement in this important undertaking.
RRTF - Dialogue Circle
TONIGHT! A Dialogue Circle to discuss the rough draft of the Covenant of Right Relations. Light dinner at 6, followed by the Circle Conversation from 7 – 9. Share your perspective, ask questions, have input as we work toward creating and owning our very first Covenant of Right Relations. If you read this in time, please call S. Stoyanoff (her number’s in the directory) so she can plan for food. If not, just come! Walk-ins welcome.
