Taking Charge of Your Life In order to accomplish the great goal of our life we need to love ourselves enough to overcome the obstacles that hold us back. Its about recognizing the precious worth of our life and refusing to spend it on anything less than an equally precious goal. Ricky Hoyt is minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Verdugo Hills and a former member of our congregation. Music: Angela Meade, Soprano |

Taking Fun Seriously We don't take fun seriously enough, said designers Ray and Charles Eames. These words are inscribed on the wall of the Eames office on Main Street, where their work is displayed. Whenever I see that quotation, I find myself thinking about it for a long time afterward. Today I'll tell you what it means to me. Music Angela Meade, soprano |

Taking the Rap (Sermon at Camp de Benneville Pines)
We've all done things - or have been part of things - that went poorly. We've all, at times, hurt or disappointed people we respect or admire. Being able to see - and move - past that is more than a matter of time. It's not simply 'forgive and forget.' It's a matter of understanding, accepting, owning and starting again. This is a service about how Camp taught me about taking the rap and being part of rap groups.
Note: No audio recording is available for this service.

Talita G. Long
She has taught art for over 25 years with the LAUSD Dorsey Crenshaw Adult School; designed art programs for senior citizens and children; and taught painting, water colors, and drawing for over six years at the California Institute for Men (CIM). At CIM she was instrumental in helping inmates develop their creative art skills and self-expression. This program, “Artsreach,” is a part of UCLA’s Art Extension programs. She has also worked with youth offenders in the California penal system. Because of the success of her programs, Talita has received the Outstanding Teacher’s Award from the Department of the Arts at UCLA. Talita’s art is born of the impressive artistic West Indian heritage, drawing from the brilliant colors of the people and costumes of Trinidad and Tobago. It is through this use of color and figures that Talita reveals another reality — her deep devotion to experiences, images, and culture. The Art Wall opening reception will be held on Sunday, December 2. |

Tarot Mediation Workshop with Jonathan Quant aka "Buudha" - Zoom/Online The Tarot, it is said, is a symbolic picture of the universe in its many layers, from material to the spiritual and beyond. Currently, the Tarot has as its basis the mystical Jewish Qabalah, drawing into it various Medieval and Renaissance systems such as astrology, alchemy, numerology, sacred geometry and mathematics, world mythology, Hermeticism, Rosicrucianism, and even Freemasonry. In modern times, it acquired Jungian psychological commentary as well. The Tarot itself is a fascinating, intricate system of interconnecting pictorial symbolism that is meant to catalyze helpful transformations within ourselves and our psyches, affecting not just behaviors, but perhaps even granting serendipitous opportunities. Jonathan Quant has been a practitioner of Tarot meditation for over 20 years and is eager to introduce you to Tarot meditation. Whether you are new to Tarot, or believe you know much… you will certainly gain fresh insights.
